Global Ties U.S. to Host a Discover Diplomacy Program for Citizen Diplomats

WASHINGTON, DC | March 31, 2014 – Global Ties U.S. proudly announces the inaugural Discover Diplomacy program, taking place May 2-4, 2014 in Washington, DC.  This program is open to all citizen diplomats and volunteers who donate their time, talent, and treasure to make international exchange a key tool for building global ties! Held in conjunction with Cultural Tourism DC’s Passport DC: Around the World Embassy Tour and Foreign Affairs Day, this special program offers participants a unique opportunity to explore the diplomatic world, learn about the history of the Foreign Service, and celebrate the Lorinne Emery Volunteer of the Year.

Every year, over 40,000 citizen diplomats in the Global Ties network volunteer to welcome current and future leaders from around the world into their community. Whether you open your home or business, volunteer your time and expertise, or support and partner with one of our member organizations, you play an integral role in building a more peaceful and prosperous world through international exchange. Join us as we celebrate you and all volunteers! Packages include hotel accommodations, registration fees, lectures, and tours. Registration is open until April 11, but space is limited.
